Surviving is a son, Garry Kearns (Dawn) of High Point; two daughters, Karen Adams (Sid) of High Point and Kathy Ridenhour (Don) of High Point; a sister, Carlene Gilmer of Georgia; eight grandchildren, Tyler Adams (Jen) of Rock Hill, SC, Ashley Adams of Greenville, SC, Mackenzie Adams of Raleigh, Matthew Ridenhour of High Point, Kyle Ridenhour of High Point, Haley Turman (Daniel) of Archdale, Kaitlyn Summers (Victor) of Greer, SC, and Spencer Kearns of High Point; and two great grandchildren, Hazel and Mattie Turman.  In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lyles Kearns and Ovid Smith.

A private graveside service will be held at Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point.  A celebration of life service will be announced in the coming days.  Memorials may be directed to Pennybyrn at Maryfield, 109 Penny Rd.
